They are the unsung heroes who invest their time, energy, and resources to build the foundation of our society. Their influence reaches beyond the classroom, as they mold the future leaders of our state and nation," he said.
Hon. Chimdi further emphasized the need for continuous support and improvement of the education sector, urging both the government and private sectors to invest more in teacher welfare and educational infrastructure. He highlighted that for the state and country to progress, teachers must be given the tools, training, and resources they need to succeed.
"Teachers are the backbone of our education system, and they deserve better. It is our responsibility as leaders to ensure they receive the respect, recognition, and resources they require to continue their excellent work," He added.
He also encouraged students and parents to appreciate the efforts of their teachers, stressing that the future of Abia State lies in the hands of a well-educated and empowered youth.
World Teachers' Day, celebrated annually on October 5, is an opportunity to honor and recognize the contributions of teachers worldwide. This year’s theme, "Valuing Teachers' Voices: Towards a new Social Contract for Education". calls attention to the importance of teacher leadership in achieving inclusive and equitable education for all.
Hon. Ibekwe Chimdi remains committed to advocating for improved policies in education and supporting initiatives that uplift teachers across Bende North and beyond.
