IWU PRESIDENT GENERAL l IN BRAZIL STRENGTHENS, TIES WITH COACH DARLINGTON GEORGE, SEEKS GLOBAL EXPOSURE FOR IGBO FOOTBALL TALENTS

The President General of the Igbo World Union, Ambassador Mishak Nnanta KJW, Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum, has continued his engagements in São Paulo with a strategic meeting with Nigerian born football coach Darlington George, aimed at building stronger pathways for young Igbo football talents to access international opportunities. The visit forms part of his broader mission to connect diaspora expertise with grassroots development back home.

Coach Darlington George, who operates a football academy in Brazil as his primary professional engagement, has been actively involved in training and developing young players within the Brazilian football system. His academy provides structured coaching, discipline, and exposure needed for players to grow into professional football careers.

Ambassador Nnanta, while delivering greetings from his people, commended the coach for his commitment and consistency in using football as a platform to uplift young talents. He noted that having a Nigerian, particularly an Igbo son, managing a football academy in Brazil presents a valuable opportunity for collaboration and talent export.

Highlighting the recently concluded Olokoro Champions League, the Igbo World Union President General praised the outstanding performances recorded during the tournament. He urged Coach George to scout for talents from the competition, stressing that many of the players have the potential to thrive under the professional structure provided by his academy.

Ambassador Nnanta expressed confidence that such collaboration will open new doors for talented youths from Olokoro and beyond. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Igbo World Union to support initiatives that promote youth empowerment through sports, adding that strategic partnerships like this will help position Igbo talents on the global football stage.
