Two female suicide bombers died on Monday, December 28, while trying to attack a market in the far north region of Cameroon.
According to local officials, the two women blew up themselves while trying to carry out attacks for Boko Haram sect.
Fortunately, no other person died from the suicide bombing which took place at the entrance of Bodo.
Speaking to Reuters, Abgassi Adoum, mayor of Makary district of which Bodo is a part: “The suicide bombing took place at the entrance of Bodo. Two women bombers wanted to get to the market place but they were stopped by vigilantes.”
He added that a member of the watch committee suffered light injuries.
Meanwhile, a bomber died and two people were wounded in a separate incident on Saturday in Tolkomari village in the Kolofata neighbourhood.
For six years, Boko Haram has been waging war in northeastern Nigeria and some neighbouring countries like Niger and Cameroon.
These neighbouring countries have joined forces with Nigerian troops to put a stop to the Boko Hama insurgency which has left many homeless and thousands dead.
Two weeks back, two women suspected to be Boko Haram suicide bomers were killed by Cameroon forces in Kolofata.
