… Ohafia LGA membership list missing 

The membership register of Abia State APC which will be used for the governorship direct primary tomorrow is already causing disaffection within the party, with some gubernatorial candidate not comfortable with the register because some of their

supporters names were not in the register. Newsmen also gathered that Ohafia LGA which has the second highest voting strength in Abia State has it register missing from the list sent from the national headquarters of APC. 

During the stakeholders meeting which held today 29th September 2018 at APC state office along Azikwe Road in Umuahia, APC Governorship aspirant Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah raised the issue of the register and complained that some of his supporters who followed him to APC have their names missing in the register. He wants ahead to posit that the register is jettisoned and all card-carrying APC members are allowed to vote.

This position did not go down well with other aspirants who quickly rejected the idea and insisted that the register is used like that. APC aspirant for Bende federal Constituency, Barrister Ben Kalu also exposed during the interaction that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu's name is not also in the register despite being a front line APC member in Nigeria. He also raised the issue of new members getting a waiver to guarantee their participation in the process.

During an interaction with media, Dr. Ogah maintained that he will win the primary, but advised that the register is looked into urgently.

In the case of Senator Nkechi Nwoagu, she maintained that the register is okay by her and good to be used for tomorrow governorship direct primaries because party members know those who have the capacity to win the election and whether the party members are 10 or 20 the best person will win. Former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and governorship aspirant, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike advised that the register is used that way. He though showed worry concerning the missing Ohafia LGA register.
