Azuonwu Onyebuchi Bright has emerged as the candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency under All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA. Barr. Armstrong C. Ibekwe the election returning officer for Ikwuano state constituency held at the APGA office Ariam ward in Ikwuano LGA said that Azuonwu Onyebuchi Bright polled a total of 39 votes to beat his closest rival Anyim Chiodo who scored 16 votes.
Other Aspirants who contested the primary election were:
- Okorie Ugochukwu Williams
- Osoagbaka Chukwuemeka Chibuzor
- Kalu Christain
- Elisa Friday Ndubuisi
Accreditation for the election which started by 2pm ended by 4.30pm and gave room for voting by 5pm which also ended 7:45pm.
The Returning officer expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election that affirmed the victory of Azuonwu Onyebuchi Bright and said the election was free and fair as was witnessed by Hon Don Darlington Awazie - The APGA Chairman for Ikwuano LGA, Mr. Jeff Jacob - LGA youth leader and Mrs. Gift Iroakasi - Women leader.
Azuonwu Onyebuchi Bright in his response shows satisfaction with the conduct of the election and said that democracy has come to stay in APGA. He used the opportunity to appreciate the APGA state Chairman Hon. Nnanna Ukaegbu for giving every aspirant a level playing ground. Bright called on other aspirants to join him in the struggle to represent the constituency stressing that to salvage Ikwuano State Constituency is a collective responsibility. Bright promised to run an all-inclusive representation to bring back dividends of democracy to the good people of Ikwuano State Constituency.
In another development. Hurricane Chikwe Udensi flaws Alex Otti in the Governorship primary election organized by APGA State Congress led by Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu the state Chairman.
