Stop Destroying Ikuku's legacy - Umuahia Residents tell Cosmos Ndukwe
For the past three weeks, traders in Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State have been thrown into pandemonium with the demolition of stores and shop projections by the ministry of
trade and investment under the commission of Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe.
Apparently, the State Government directed and enforced traders at the popular "Isi gate" to relocate to Ubani Market. This was with the inauguration of the Task force by the Commissioner, and the trading activities at Isi gate also had seized leaving so many questions unanswered.
One may ask, should the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Cosmos Ndukwe use hoodlums with questionable characters to do an official work of the Government?
Is the Government Task Force ought to be forcefully brandishing machetes, knives and other weapons against citizens?
On Saturday, 25th of January 2020, this gang of Task Force unleashed mayhem at a beer parlor in Uwalaka Street off Uzuakoli road, where they beamed their atrocious light and allegedly destroyed a poor innocent woman's means of livelihood and left her Children badly wounded.
According to an eye witness, Chief Chinedu Obilor, popularly known as Fayose, the task force invaded the shop demanding the sum of #20,000, plates of pepper soup and bottles of beer or risk their shop destroyed. The bar tender whose mother owns the shop told them his mother was not around and has no authority to offer such.
This, according to the eyewitness provoked the team to turn the shop upside down, and wounded helpless people at their reach.
Several calls put across to the commissioner yielded nothing as the commissioner raised his voice on each caller that evening. This, Chief Chinedu Obilor had taken upon himself and recorded a video to address the issue which went viral on Facebook and to the surprise of Abians, Chief Cosmos unprofessionally responded to the facebook video thereby, displaying character never seen in a leader of such office capacity
Authoritatively, as gatherd by our correspondent, Chief Chinedu Obilor Iyierioba is currently receiving threats by Cosmos Ndukwe's hoodlums for defending a poor woman. Cheif Obilor had also questioned if beer parlor operators are supposed to also relocate to Ubani market. By this, the governor should be careful in his selection of certain people to occupy special government offices. To be candid, Cheif Cosmos Ndukwe is square peg in a round hole and Ikpeazu should ease him this destructive and hostile manner of discharging official duties with Indian Helm smokers. Mr Cosmos should also make haste to tell Abians who receives the #20,000 paid by store owners in Umuahia metropolis to avoid their shops being destroyed. This indeed is a minus to the surviving administration of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu. The speaker, Abia State house of Assembly should make haste and halt this cankerwormic activities in his constituency. Hon Ndukwe is never a goal in Government and he never wondered while he failed in his polling unit at Item to an unpopular candidate and now we even heard he is using the ministery of trade to show himself up for credibility when the power rotates to Abia Nort in 2023 to the pain of poor Umuahia constituents, this is further bringing bad name to Okezie Ikpeazu.
Ikpeazu should urgently go round Umuahia and check his acceptance for this singular act by his commisioner for trade and investment. he must urgently stop the distruction of peoples properties which are not located at isigate axis and the collection of #20,000 unaccounted fee. Cosmos Ndukwe should quickly apologize to this woman whose means of livelihood is destroyed and possibly compensate her. He should stop destroying the legacies of Engr. Chinedum Orji.
