APGA CHIEFTAIN TO EFCC: DONT KILL T. A ORJI AND SON's CORRUPTION CASE

THE Acting National Treasurer of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),

Chief Smart Iheoma, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) not sweep under the carpet its highly detailed and publicised corruption case, involving the former governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Ahamefule Orji and his son, Chinedu Orji, who is also the current Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly.

Iheoma, on behalf of the main opposition political party in the state stated that it will be a great disservice to Abians and Nigerians at large who are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the investigation and possible arraignment of the accused in order to know the seriousness of the President Muhammadu Buhari anti-corruption war.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Iheoma described the alleged looting of the state by Orji and his family as completely mindless, which is greatly manifested in the grievous under-development of the state as is glaring in all the nooks and crannies of the oil producing state.

Iheoma said the alleged mindless looting of Abia treasury can be likened with Abacha loot and if recovered from them will greatly move the state forward infrastructure wise, stating that even former Governor TA Orji in 2010, prior to the 2011 General Election openly admitted that he failed in government then by openly alleging that it was his predecessor, former Governor Orji Uzor-Kalu, that he channeled the state resources to. Ironically, even after he ‘liberated’ himself from Uzor-Kalu’s alleged servitude, Abians still did not witness any infrastructural growth.
