Governor Ikpeazu's aide calls for total overhauling of the revenue sector, votes for the adoption of Treasury Single Account Policy.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Revenue, Chief Iheanyi Igboañulam (Kpakpando Ohuhu), has called for total overhauling of the State's revenue sector and votes for the adoption of Treasury Single Account Policy.

According to the Governor's aid, his findings in the revenue sector have triggered this call for urgent intervention, if the bars of the Internally Generated Revenue of the State must be raised.

The Governor's aid voiced his opinion during a meeting of political appointees with the governor, at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

According to the SSA, the Treasury Single Account is primarily designed to to bring all government funds in bank accounts within the effective control and operational purview of the treasury, in order to enthrone centralised, transparent and accountable revenue management, facilitates effective cash management, ensures cash availability, promotes efficient appraising budget execution, promotes an established chain of command reduce room for financial leakages.
