Abia Governor 2023: Umuahia North Councillors persuade Abia Speaker to declare intention

Councillors of Umuahia North Legislative Council under the leadership of Hon. Peter Obinna Iroegbu have passed a Vote of Confidence on the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji For the pragmatic way he has been piloting the affairs of the Abia state house of Assembly

They went on to call on the Speaker Hon Engr Chinedum Orji to declare an Intention to run for the governorship of the state ahead of the 2023 general election.

The councillors who made the communique endorsed by all of them noted that Engr Chinedum Orji remaines the best man for the Abia governorship job.

“Abia State needs in 2023 an individual equipped with the necessary political and social leadership skills, training and intellect to drive the engine of growth and development so as to move the state forward,” the communique reads.

Children Orji has touched and continues to touch the lives of residents of Abia State, through his direct touch initiative, building stadia for young people, provision of financial supports for small and micro enterprises, Churches, widows, orphans and the down-trodden.

“ We have called Engr Chinedum Orji, to make an intention to serve Abia State known, and that Umuahia North Councillors will support his candidacy if and when he chooses to step out.”
