ABIA COUNCILLORS CRY OUT, WE ARE IN DISARRAY.

The elected Councillors of Abia state are crying out again to the authorities concerned in the state about the very poor treatment being melted to Councillors of Abia state.
The councillors reiterated that whatever  reason being given for the poor renumeration to Abia Councillors can no longer be accepted. The councillors rising from their emergency meeting lamented that they have been neglected and abandon saying that the stipulated amount by Revenue and fiscal mobilization commission for elected Councillors and as contained in the LGA"s budget of 2021 passed by the various legislative chambers has not considered in their payment, hence they are eating from hand to mouth and cannot even execute one project in their various  wards.

It will be recalled that the elected Councillors of Abia state have been agitating for a better welfare package as they say it's a fact that the elected Councillors of Abia state are the worst paid in the whole of south east and Nigeria in general.

They regretted that their efforts so far in making the authorities look into the very poor pay package of  Abia councillors is being neglected.

The councillors applauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the way he has been handling security matters in the state and asked him to intervene in their ugly situation and correct the anomalies and hardship Abia Councillors are passing through.

  1. That's a clear fact is high time the state stops conducting local government elections and use caretaker to run the state since they cannot respect the local government lawmakers.somebody will spend millions of naira to contest an election at the end of his tenure he won't even make half of what he spent talk more of gain this is so disheartening.
