Umunga community in Nsirimo Umuahia South bans activities with Ezun’Erim Autonomous Community over issues of transparency.

The people of Umunga in Nsirimo Umuahia South if Abia State have banned indigens from participating in activities with Ezun’Erim Autonomous Community over issues pertaining transparency.

IN A COMMUNIQUÉ JOINTLY ISSUED AT THE END OF UMUNGA MEETING HELD AT UMUNGA CIVIC HALL ON THURSDAY 16TH JUNE, 2022 by the people of Umuonuoha, Umunwudoaku and Umundiomachieahia originally and traditionally known, called and addressed as Umunga people jointly met on the above date and took a decision on the issue/matter of our first and second  letters to the Executive of Ezun’Erim Development Union dated 16th April, and 24th May, 2022 respectively, demanding for the accountability of the Ezun’Erim Autonomous Community Road Project executed by the Executive of Ezun’Erim Development Union, and also Umunga letter of appeal to HRH, Eze (Sir) A.A Ugwunna  (KSJI) dated 31st of May 2022, and their negligence to respond to the above mentioned letters formed the Major Agenda of the Meeting. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ndubuisi John Uhegwu, the Chairman of Umunga-bloc. After extensive deliberation, the Umunga condemned in totality the non responses to their request by the executive of EEDU and HRH. We the good people of Umunga-Bloc therefore, resolved as follows that: To withdraw from all the activities relating to Ezun’Erim Autonomous Community Nsirimo indefinitely with immediate effect. All officers/members serving in Umunga capacity viz:- Ezun’Erim Development Union EEDU both home and aboard. All officers from Umunga bloc serving in Ezun’Erim Development Union - women wing  All officers from Umunga serving in Ezun’Erim Development Union youth wing  All members of Erizuo II in council from Umunga Umuerim henceforth, shall not attend and or participate in any activity of Ezun’Erim Autonomous Community.All the above shall remain enforced until all the requests/conditions stated above are addressed adequately and satisfactorily.   Any defaulter shall face whatever Umunga people shall decide.
