In a bid to enhance the collection of levies and to check the activities of fraudsters in Abia. The State Internal Revenue Service has set up a team to be led by Mr Luke Micheal
Speaking to newsmen at Opobo junction Aba, the team leader said he is saddled with the responsibility, by the Abia State Internal Revenue Service (ABiRS) to Coordinate his team to do raid operations on fake Emblems and Paper Based Daily Tickets and also to Validate Every Emblem Sold to the public Electronically Through Online ABIRS App.
He said the team will also engage in gathering intelligent reports and security intelligence.
"We are to see that Abia does not lose public funds to miscreants and our team will carry out raids on illegal activities Touts who have been parading themselves as ABIRS Staff within the State".
Mr Luke Michael informed the general public the current way In which emblem and daily ticket in Abia state is obtained. He went further telling the good people of Abia State that Emblem and daily ticket is now processed electronically. According to him, ones you purchase your emblem or daily ticket, you will receive an alert to authenticate that is from ABIRS and failure not to get alert means it's fake.
He educated that u can crosscheck using USSD code *8014*99#, which he assured the public how simple and accessable the app is.
Furthermore, Mr Michael advised those concerned to ensure that their ticket is uploaded online and emphasized that the Paper Based Daily Tickets has been abolished. He concluded by applauding the state government and the chairman of Abia Internal Revenue Service by this initiative.
