The African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Abia Central Hon. Dr John Abraham Godson, has pledged to provide good representation to his constituents, saying the people should not be important for elections alone.
Hon Godson said the Zone deserves good representation, good roads, good medical facilities, Attraction of Investors, empowerment and many other dividends of democracy.
These were contained in a statement containing the plans he has for his people, made available to newsmen on Wednesday, as he pointed out that one of the biggest challenges in a political space is trust as the people see politicians as people who make promises just to win elections, after which they are neglected.
“My good people of Abia Central. It is a year of political, infrastructural and economic definition. It is a year we hope to redefine representation and serve you.
“One of the biggest challenges in a political space is TRUST. The people see politicians as people who make promises just to win elections, after which the people are neglected. I don't dispute that!
“But for me, If elected as Senator, I will be coming from a track record with a delivery pedigree that our people are quite familiar with. I was a lawmaker in a developed country abroad where I contributed my quota and desired to replicate same in my father land. So delivery is in my blood!
“Going into the Senate, the stakes are expected to be higher. Our Senatorial Zone has three Federal Constituencies. We must unite our people with the spirit of equity, justice and fairness in sharing opportunities.
“My Team and I had gone round the Senatorial zone, not just to talk to our people on my intentions; but to also look at the needs of the people. For each Ward, Local Government, Federal Constituency and the entire zone, we have documented the major needs of the people,” he said.
It is now left in your hands to finalize through your votes. Let us have a fresh atmosphere and not repeating same mistakes all over again. Vote me and hold me responsible. He said
