JUBILATION AS OTTI STORMS OBINGWA LGA

..... REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO MAKE ABIA A DESTINATION FOR ECONOMIC PROSPECTS AND SOCIAL SECURITY.

The Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Thursday, 9 February, concluded his 2-day tour of Obingwa LGA.

The Labour Party (LP) flag bearer commenced his campaign tour on Wednesday, with a visit to Mbasato Autonomous community, where he was first welcomed by HRM, Eze, Dr. F. M Ikpeazu (Eze Udo II of Mba-Asato Autonomous Community), at the Tochukwu Palace, Mbasato, Obingwa.

Thereafter, the campaign trail stormed the banquet hall of Rowmay Hotel, Opopo Road, Aba, where Otti met with stakeholders in the LGA, amid jubilations and roars of excitement.

The governorship hopeful also made a stop at the country home of Chief Amadi Azuogu, an illustrious son of Obingwa, in Ntigha-Mbano autonomous community.

Dr. Otti also had lively town hall meetings with supporters and stakeholders in Ohuru, Amaiye, Umunneoma, Isiala Ahiaba autonomous communities in Obingwa LGA, as he wooed stakeholders and party faithfuls to support his quest of rebuilding Abia State.

On the second lap of his tour of Obingwa LGA, Otti, who is the leading governorship aspirant in Abia, first of all, received Royal blessings from HRH, Eze (Sir) Young A. Nwangwa (Eze Oko I) of Ehere autonomous community, Obingwa.

In his address to different people he met in Obingwa, Otti reiterated his commitment to thrust Abia into the path of economic growth and stability, stressing the need to elect a governor with an in-depth knowledge of how the economy works.

He said, “Abia deserves a governor that knows how to resuscitate the battered economy of this great state. We need someone with the Will to construct good quality roads across urban and rural areas, roads that can last for decades, built by quality and reputable engineering firms. That is the first step to economic development.”

Otti also proceeded to Itungwa, where he dialogued with a large number of stakeholders and party members at St. Gall Catholic Parish, Itungwa in Obingwa LG.

According to Otti, “Our neighbours have long outlived most of the mundane issues that dominate our politics in Abia. The state has one of the lowest IGR per capita
of N3,462 which is lower than the country average of N4,616 per citizen, making the state susceptible to the risk of incurring more debt, Its total debt per capita stands at N30,324, higher than the country average of N27,316 per person, we seriously need to elect someone with a vast economic knowledge. It’s not time for experiment anymore”, he said.
