Bende, Nigeria – As the Nigeria's society kept facing growing economic challenges, Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, the hardworking and dedicated lawmaker representing Bende North, has called on his constituents and the wider Nigerian public to adopt a balanced approach of faith and hard work as the key to overcoming the present hardships. Speaking to the media on Sunday, the lawmaker urged his condtituents to embrace divine guidance while actively engaging in productive work to navigate the difficult economic situation.
Hon. Ibekwe emphasized the importance of spiritual strength and personal responsibility in the face of adversity. “We are currently facing one of the toughest economic periods in our history, with inflation, unemployment, and cost of living on the rise,” he said. “But we must remember that as people of faith, we are called to combine trust in God with diligent effort. The Bible teaches us that ‘faith without works is dead,’ and now more than ever, we must live by this principle.”
The lawmaker encouraged his constituents not to be disheartened by the economic downturn, stressing that both faith and action can serve as powerful tools in finding solutions to financial difficulties. He explained that relying on faith alone is not enough to overcome challenges and that hard work, resilience, and innovation must be a part of the equation.
"We cannot afford to sit idle and wait for miracles. Yes, God is ever faithful, but we must meet Him halfway with our efforts," Hon. Ibekwe said. "Look around you, our people are resilient, strong, and resourceful. What we need now is to believe in our own ability to create change. Whether through small businesses, agriculture, or skilled trades, we must put our hands to work."
Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi acknowledged that many families and individuals have been struggling to make ends meet in the current economic climate, with food prices soaring and job opportunities shrinking. However, he reassured his constituents that the combination of faith and practical action is not only a religious directive but a proven method for overcoming obstacles in life.
The lawmaker concluded his speech by encouraging his constituents to keep hope alive and to remain united in their efforts to build a better future. He urged them to remember that by combining faith with work, they not only honor divine principles but also empower themselves to break free from the shackles of economic hardship.
