Mascot Uzor kalu Hails Tinubu's $552 Million Education Initiative, Describes It as a Bold Investment in Nigeria's Future

Former Abia State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Chief Mascot Uzokalu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for launching the $552 million HOPE-EDU programme, describing the initiative as a transformative investment that will reposition Nigeria's education sector and empower millions of young Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Friday, Uzor kalu praised President Tinubu's commitment to improving access to quality education through the programme, which is backed by the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). The initiative is expected to benefit about 29 million pupils, over 500,000 teachers, 65,000 public schools, and 10,000 non-formal learning centres across the country.

According to the former APC governorship aspirant, no nation can attain sustainable economic growth without investing heavily in education, noting that the Tinubu administration has demonstrated foresight by prioritizing the future of Nigerian children.

"This landmark intervention is not just about funding schools; it is about securing the future of Nigeria. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again shown that his administration is committed to building human capital, empowering teachers, improving learning outcomes, and giving every Nigerian child an opportunity to succeed," Uzokalu stated.

He noted that the programme would significantly improve teaching standards, enhance learning facilities, and expand access to education, especially for children in underserved and rural communities.

Chief Mascot Uzor kalu further urged state governments to collaborate closely with the Federal Government to ensure the effective implementation of the programme, stressing that transparency, accountability, and proper monitoring would be critical to achieving the desired results.

He also called on parents, teachers, school administrators, and community leaders to support the initiative, saying that education remains the strongest foundation for national development.

Reaffirming his support for the Tinubu administration, Uzokalu expressed optimism that the President's ongoing reforms in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and the economy would continue to deliver long-term benefits for Nigerians.

"The future of every nation is determined by the quality of education it provides for its children. This initiative is a clear demonstration that President Tinubu understands this reality and is laying a solid foundation for generations yet unborn. I commend him for this visionary step and encourage all stakeholders to support its successful implementation," he added.
