Abia Ace Broadcaster IGOYAN BABA has applauded the government of Abia state for listening to the yearnings of Abians to adjust the ongoing curfew in Abia to 10pm - 6am. He described ikpeazu as a listening Governor. According to him. This is a time some persons are gagging the social media but ikpeazu has used it as a tool and thermometer to measure government policies and always accepting criticisms. IGOYAN who took to his social media handle(Facebook) to appeal to the Government on Tuesday June 15, 2021 for an adjustment appreciated chief John Okiyi Kalu and Dr Aham Ukoh (commissioner for finance) for being carriers of the people yearnings to the governor and the security council.
In view of this, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the adjustment of the existing curfew times. In a release signed by Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Honorable Commissioner for Information, Abia State,
Curfew in Aba and Umuahia municipalities now takes effect from 10pm to 6am daily
Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi and Arochukwu LGAs now takes effect from 8pm to 6am daily
According to Chief Okiyi Kalu, Government wishes to advise citizens and residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious movements to security agents and ensure full compliance with the new curfew regimes which take effect from Friday, 18th June, 2021, subject to further reviews.
