Dr John Abraham Godson Mourns Prof Ikonne; Describes his death as a big loss to Abia.

Abia Central Senatorial Zone candidate Hon Dr John Abraham Godson has described the death of the Abia PDP governorship candidate Prof Uche Ikonne as an immeasurable loss to Abia state and Nigeria.

Dr Godson said he was deeply saddened by the passing of the elder statesman 

“I trusts that all who mourn the demise of the late Prof, who commanded great respect among his peers in the academia will honour his memory by actively embracing his beliefs and ideas geared towards uniting Abia people.

"I had the opportunity of relating with Prof Ikonne and paid him a few courtesy visits in his capacity as the VC of my alma mater while I was a senator in Poland. His keen interest and request was for me to help him connect to Technical Universities in Poland for partnerships and exchanges. I connected him to the Technical University of Lodz, one of the best Technical Universities in Poland. 

His last message to me was on the 28th of May 2022- when I congratulated him for his emergence as the gubernatorial flag bearer of PDP. His response was “Thanks a lot Dokii” 

I must say that this is a big loss for Abia and Abians. It is my prayer that God will comfort his wife and children, giving them the fortitude to Bear the loss.
