The Abia State House of Assembly celebrates its first anniversary on this day, June 14, 2024 marking a year of substantial legislative accomplishments and impactful governance.
Hon Anderson Akaliro, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Assembly, praised his colleagues for their dedication and collective efforts over the past year.
"I salute every member of the house for their efforts in ensuring that our legislative activities have been a success," Akaliro remarked.
Akaliro highlighted the Assembly's significant achievements, noting that the house received 46 petitions and considered 55 motions over the past year.
"Additionally, we have raised 15 bills, ensuring that 5 of these bills are passed into law after careful review," he stated.
These legislative efforts have led to 40 resolutions addressing crucial issues within the state.
"The house has tackled inter-community and local government conflicts, infrastructure problems, and health concerns through these resolutions," Akaliro added.
Also addressing Newsmen, The Speaker Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa commended the Assembly's accomplishments, lauding the collaborative relationship between the executive and legislative branches.
"The synergy we have fostered has resulted in policies and projects that uplift our communities and drive sustainable development," he said.
Hon. Barr. Anderson Akaliro categorically stated that the Abia State House of Assembly plans to focus more on economic development, job creation, and enhancing public safety in its upcoming legislative sessions.
In conclusion, He called for continued unity and a renewed pledge to serve the people of Abia State with diligence and integrity.
