OziomaChi Calls for Agricultural Embrace Amid Economic Challenges

"The dollar rate is very high. There will be food insecurity. Fuel cost is very high. There will be food insecurity. So, let us embrace agriculture and stop food insecurity - OziomaChi"

Amid growing concerns over the high exchange rate of the dollar and soaring fuel costs, renowned agricultural advocate Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi has issued a clarion call for Nigerians to embrace agriculture as a solution to impending food insecurity.

Speaking, the lawmaker highlighted the challenges posed by the high dollar rate, which has led to increased import costs and, in turn, higher food prices. Additionally, the escalating fuel prices have further exacerbated the situation, making the cost of food production and distribution unsustainable.

"There will be food insecurity if we do not act fast," he warned. "The dollar rate is very high, and fuel costs are rising daily. We must take proactive steps to secure our food supply by turning to agriculture."

In light of these economic challenges, Hon Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi urged citizens and the government alike to invest in local food production to reduce dependence on imports and prevent a looming food crisis. The call underscores the need for long-term strategies that promote agricultural self-sufficiency and ensure food security for the country.

"We can stop food insecurity if we all embrace agriculture," Hon. Chimdi concluded, calling on everyone to see farming as a viable solution in these turbulent times.

As Nigeria grapples with rising inflation and economic uncertainty, the call to embrace agriculture could be a crucial step in preventing widespread food shortages and ensuring a stable supply of affordable food for all.
